The Instagram Algorithm is mostly a mystery 🧐 but here are the things that I unraveled so far 👇🏼

1. When you post, Instagram will show your post to your followers first ✅
2. If our followers interact with your post (Like, comment, share or save), Instagram will be notified that people like it so it pushes your post to more people, people who don't follow you. 🚀
3. The more engagement your post gets, the more Instagram pushes it to more people who might be interested to see it.

It's that simple really.

⛔But wait, there's more:

If you used banned hashtags or prohibited content, your post won't be promoted at all. Your followers will still see it if they visit your feed but it won't be shown to people who don't follow you.
Sometimes, Instagram will do this for just 1 post. Sometimes your other posts will be affected too. This is where the term "shadowbanned" originated. We don't know whether it's true or not but it happens.
